ACTS 5:17-42
"Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him and they were filled with indignation........."
"What God loves, the enemy hates." This is a saying that we often express through messages in our church and a truth that has been experienced since the beginning of time.
The truths of God and the faith displayed by His people, the enemy absolutely hates!
Not only does the enemy hate the things of God, but he will claw and scratch at the people of God until Jesus returns. This is the spiritual warfare that is seen all throughout the scriptures and still felt today.
Now here is the good news for those saved by God's goodness........
"God's love and provisions are so much greater and stronger than the enemy's hate."
The Bible promises that this life will be filled with hardships, persecution, and wars with the enemy. Praise God that the Lord's goodness is so much greater than anything that the world can throw at us!
This truth is evident in this week's text. The heat is really rising on the people of God and now the opposition is beginning to look at the disciples in the same light as they did Jesus:
"If we can not get them to be quiet, kill them." The battle Jesus and His truth faced is the same battle that many believers will face as well today. Following Christ can end strong relationships, cause one to lose employment, be cut from a team, or even be thrown into prison. Today, we still see people losing their life because of their faith. But we see a greater truth than the enemy's hate in our text. God is with us and His provisions are far greater! Through His goodness and faith, prison doors are opened, and true freedom is given much like in chapter 5 for the faithful followers of Jesus. Today, those same prison doors are opened every day! Through our faith and God's provisions, greater relationships are formed, greater callings are given than jobs that are lost, and strength is kindled in the world's attempt to weaken. While staying faithful rest in knowing these truths! Don't lose hope in midst of the enemy's war or hate, because God's love is so much greater.
Stay faithful church!

Scripture to go along with this week's message:
Read Luke 12:22-34 as the same writer of Acts calls us to not worry and remain faithful.
